Welcome Back!!!

Welcome back 8th grade students!  I’m excited to begin the school year.  If you click on this link before August 10, and you’re wondering what you should be doing with all your free time…LOG into ALEKS! You’ll be working on it soon and it will count as a huge part of your class grade (a project grade to be exact) so take advantage of this time and start preparing for your last year at BCCS!

As far as materials go…get yourself:

  • 3-ring binder (1.5 inch should work for math and a few of your other classes)
  • dividers
  • a few boxes of pencils (or mechanical pencils and plenty of extra lead)
  • highlighters
  • erasers
  • loose leaf paper (college rule works best for most students) for your binder

Week 4: Unit 7

Students grades are due next week so a few things to know…

  • If you need to make up any tests, do so this week.  I’ll be in my classroom at 7:30 on Thursday and Friday if you need to re-take a test.
  • Also… do you have any missing assignments to turn in? Turn in any/all missing assignment this week or I cannot guarantee that I will get to grade them in time for the 5 week report card.
    • You can find all assignments linked in PowerSchool or you can see me during field time if you need a printed copy.

This week we are beginning a new unit on Proportional Relationships, the first part should sounds familiar to the Common Core Standards we studied last school year, but there will be more graphing involved this year.
